Sylva Fischerová

Sylva Fischerová was born in Prague, Czech Republic in 1963. She grew up in the Moravian town of Olomouc, and returned to Prague to study philosophy and physics, and later Greek and Latin, at Charles University. As a poet she has released five Czech collections.  Among her books in English is The Swing in the Middle of Chaos: Selected Poems (Bloodaxe, 2009), translated by Stuart Friebert.
