The award, which was founded by Sandra Cisneros to recognize exceptional writing talent and dedication to nurturing the creativity of others, is presented by the Macando Foundation. Linda Rodriguez also talks about her involvement with the Latino Writers Collective in Kansas City, where pieces of her manuscript were encouraged and developed.
