Born and raised in the Arkansas Ozarks, C.D. Wright continues to capture the rhythmic patterns of this region in her poetry, even though she now teaches at Brown University in Rhode Island. Her books include String Light, which won the 1992 Poetry Center Book Award. In this interview with fellow poet, H.L. Hix, Wright talks about her work and reads from her 1998 collection, Deepstep Come Shining.
